Anna

Qualified as a swimming teacher in 1999 and have taught swimming in Leigh-on-Sea ever since.  I started at another local swim school, where I taught for 4 years, until i was offered the chance to job share with Jan, teaching the children at Leigh North Street Primary School.  Jan and I worked together for many years until her retirement from school swimming and then in 2022 she asked me if I would take over the Swim School.  Together with my husband Colin and the support of our wonderful swimming teachers, we rebranded as Leigh Swim School, and continue to offer high quality swimming tuition.

Carol

Since qualifying as a nursery nurse in 1976, I have always worked with young children. I started swimming at a young age within a club and now find myself still involved in swimming over half a century later (yes, I am that old!!) I am a qualified level 2 teacher, adult and child trained, and an open water coach. I’m still coaching at club level and am also a judge level 2 for swimming. As you can probably see, swimming is a lifelong passion for me, which I enjoy passing on to others.

I’ve always loved swimming, and was a competitive swimmer for 7 years as a child. I decided to train as a swimming teacher after becoming a mum in 2018, completing my level 1 course when my son was just 10 weeks old, and have since gone on to do my level 2 and adult and child qualifications. I take my own children swimming every week, and also enjoy open water swimming (when the weather is warm enough!).

Suzie

My love of swimming stared at an early age at Chalkwell beach, be it rain or shine, with my mum, aunt and uncle.  I joined Rochford & District Swim club at the age of 8yrs to swim competitively and went on to become club and county champion in my teens and qualifying for Nationals from 14yrs old.
With a childhood always in the water the first step into lifeguarding was a natural one and then onwards as an ASA Swim Teacher, directing my skills primarily to young children.  I’m also a qualified Baby, Toddler and PreSchool swim teacher guiding children and their parents in those first steps of such an important life skill.
